Hello,
I didn't found a topic for this, so I try to start one...

I get the information after booting "Failed to start LSB: ...". What does that mean and what should I do.

Background:
I installed moodlebox by using the RP-imager. It is a RP4B with 128 GB card.

THX for any help!
David

THX Nicolas for the suggestion. But I will try it again.

I already installed the OS in different ways.
32GB by RP-imager, by RP-Imager and downloaded IMG and installing with etcher
Same procedure with a 128GB card.

If I try to open the network adress connected, the adresse moodlebox.home opens. But with errors...

THX a lot!
I am really curious to try this system. I see many benefits for my volunteer work in the area of social welfare.

Hello!
I took more time to work with my moodlebox, read more artikels in this forum and read again the manual.
I was too concentrated to the information my Moodlebox gave me after the first boot (see picture above) on the screen. According to many threads obivously it doesn't matter that lsb, accesspoint and dnsmasq give this "FAILED" information.
My next fault was to try to connect via ethernet to the Box. As written (shame on me) it is in general not possible to connect to the Moodlebox by wire. After I took my Laptop, connected it to the Wlan of the Box and logged in, everything seems to run fine.
Mea culpa!

I think it should be possible to work to the Box via ethernet, because the usebility will raise.

Anyway, problem is SOLVED for me. I am really curious about how it works, because I see many benefits for my volunteer work to use it.
THX and merci beacoup again to @"Nicolas" and your team!

It is indeed possible to work with MoodleBox via Ethernet out of the box 🥳 : you just need a bit of configuration on your LAN (or on your computer). Have a look at this documentation, and good luck!

Out of curiosity: I'm a bit concerned that one cannot find this info easily, and I would like to improve this. I'd be very pleased if you could take a moment to explain here why it did not come up during your extended reading.

    Hello Nicolas,
sorry for the delay. It took me time until now, but it is important to me to answer, because at least this is currently what I can return.

The conclusion is: The documentation is fine as it is! People, as I, should take time to read it properly. (shame on me)
My problem was, that the documentation diverts for further information in dead-end pages and doesn't return to the mainpage.
Second: When I started the moodlebox, I had a monitor connected and the "fails" popped up. As I know now, it doesn't matter.

So now everything works fine out of the box!!! People can connect by wifi and register and use it. AND they have internet, if they're connected by wifi.

Sorry for the confusion and thank you again for your great work!!!!

Any idea on what could I do to improve this?

uuh... I'am no expert in this.
As a user I would prefer a back-button oder link back where you left the main page.
Or a accordion-function in the main-page to open more information.

...and I would give at least a small hint about the OK "failed" in the boot sequence

Nicolas changed the title to "Failed to start LSB" .
