Several moodlebox on the same network

Hello everyone, one moodlebox on the school network worked very well. But I need to place two to three moodleboxes on the same network. I need your help to change static IP and domain name. Try the domain change (https://moodlebox.net/en/help/domain-name-change/) but step 6 does not work. I need: moodlebox01.home (10.0.0.1), moodlebox02.home (10.0.0.2), moodlebox03.home (10.0.0.3)

Do you mean all steps 1-5 did work? Can you access URL http://moodlebox01.home from a device connected on the correct SSID?

Hi Nicolas, steps 1 to 5 are configuration, when I restart the moodlebox the client PC does not recognize the changes with the new domain. I had to leave the scripts by default. (My name is Daniel)

The SSID works well the client PC connects even to the moodlebox even to the Internet (I have only changed the domain not IPs) but does not recognize the new domain (moodlebox01.home)

Are SSIDs different? Can you ping to each host?

Thanks Nicolas. Moodlebox work good in all classrooms. The problem was in router. Now all work OK.

Danzuni Hi, I know that you have found a solution. I find your application is very interesting. It would be nice, if you could provide more information for the benefit of the other visitors.

Here are some thoughts from my side to dig in to the configuration:

I would have thought the hot-spots of the MoodleBoxes need different SSIDs (moodlebox01, moodlebox02, ...) because their ranges may overlap. But there IP addresses could all be the same (10.0.0.1), since each wirelss network is a private network on its own.
They can also keep the same URL, http://moodlebox.home. The students have to be careful to join their SSID, if the wireless ranges overlap.
Obviously the IP addresses of the Ethernet side (cable) need to be different. If the MoodleBoxes get their IP addresses from the router/DHCP server, there won't be a collision. Only thing, you don't immediately know which one has which address. Most DHSP allows reserving IP addresses based on their MAC addresses. Then you can have 192.168.1.11, 192.168.1.12, usw. for the MoodleBoxes.
In this setup, accessing the MoodleBoxes from the wired LAN will be a problem. But that is anyway not part of MoodleBox. You have to find a system following the documentation Nicolas has given.
The wireless of the access point / switch / router on top right doesn't play a part in this, right? Your MoodleBoxes require a switch, DHCP server and router, right?

What is the use in general? Is it a school, where you combine the access point and Moodle in to a MoodleBox per room? Why?

Danzuni In addition, I have noticed that you use RPi 4B 4GB. I prefer 3B+ or even 3B. Although 4B and 3B+ boards are more powerful than the 3B, the maximum number of wi-fi devices they serve are roughly the same. The cause lies "upstream", somewhere in the wireless device driver of Raspbian. The down side of the more powerful RPi is they generate more heat. Although as "headless servers" the problem is not severe, if they operate 24/7, say attached to the wall in a plastic case, they could become a fire hazard during a heat wave!

For the benefit of those who haven't experimented with MoodleBox, it has a "soft" power off button on the web interface. As Raspberry Pi don't have a power switch, one needs to plan something external.
