Raspberry Pi 500

Do people have opinions on the suitability of the newly released Raspberry PI 500 as a platform for Moodlebox. It strikes me that the case/keyboard gets rid of one more thing to think about. However it might be less robust than some of the alternative case solutions.

marcus I had a RPi 400 and tested with the MoodleBox. It ran perfectly and had very good performance - Pi 400 is a Pi 4. And no cooling problems due to the big case. But the additional peripheries, keyboard, trackpad, etc. are of no use for the MoodleBox, which is designed as a (headless) server.

marcus I've used a Pi 400 and it works perfectly as a MoodleBox. I don't really need another computer, but I know the teachers in Ghana with whom I work have mentioned that it is useful as an additional computer in their classrooms when they're not using MoodleBox. So far, no one has mentioned that the 400 is more attractive to steal, but that's something that has crossed my mind as a possible downside.

Looking at its specs, the RPi 500 will be suitable for a MoodleBox just like the RPi 400, with more power and memory.

I don't think the advantage this model is the case, since buying (or printing) one for a RPi 4B or RPi 5 is quite easy and affordable. But for someone who needs a small Linux box for everyday computing plus a MoodleBox, this model is IMHO very much interesting.

Disclaimer: I've not tried this new model, either as a simple desktop Linux computer or as a MoodleBox, so bear with me.
