Does tool_moodlebox_moodle43_2024032801.zip support MoodleBox 4.5.1?

I was experimenting with MoodleBox 4.5.1 (details https://discuss.moodlebox.net/d/461-connecting-a-rpi-zero-2-w-bullseye-moodlebox-to-a-wireless-lan-as-well). Somewhere I noticed that Site administration > Plugins complains that the MoodleBox plug-in is outdated and needs a newer one. Which I did through the Moodle front-end ('admin' GUI). Much later, as I wanted the Moodle Dashboard it wasn't there. I removed the plug-in directory and copied back the one from MB 4.5.1. The upgrade script complained that can't go back to older versions. Then I uninstalled the plug-in properly and copied the old one back again. This time it accepted and I have the MB Dashboard.

My question is whether tool_moodlebox_moodle43_2024032801.zip is not compatible with MB 4.5.1? If so, why the GUI allows installing it?

Strictly, the MoodleBox plugin is developed to be compatible with Moodle versions, like any other Moodle plugin. So whether it is compatible with an image depends on the Moodle version installed on this image.

IIRC, MoodleBox image v4.5.1 has Moodle 4.1+, therefore MoodleBox plugin should be compatible with it.

I am careful in talking of "any other plug-ins" because the additional plug-ins have various versioning concepts. As a end user I would expect a list of plug-in versions and for each a list of compatible Moodle versions. Example https://moodle.org/plugins/theme_stream/versions.

Yes, the current MoodleBox plug-in, report_benchmark_moodle41_2023012800.zip, claims to be compatible with all Moodle versions since 2.7: https://moodle.org/plugins/report_benchmark/versions. I wonder why then MoodleBox 4.5.1 brought up a warning that a newer version is available?

MoodleBox did not warn you: the Moodle instance on your MoodleBox did. What's the Moodle version?
