Setting Moodlebox date/time - non-administrators

Good morning. My project is using Raspberry Pis/Moodlebox in an offline environment, and Pis are switched off at the end of every day. Is it possible to assign permissions to a non-Administrator role to allow them to set the Date/Time each morning? This is of particular interest to ensure the correct date is set on user Certificates, as well as allowing users to make proper use of the calendar/announcement features. Thank you.

Hi Rachel,

In theory, everything is possible 😀 , it's a matter of development time and resources. As you may know, MoodleBox is a side project, that I run in addition to my (real) work, so the time I can work on MoodleBox is very limited.

I'll try to have a look at your request, but cannot make promises.

Hi Nicolas - thank you for taking the time to reply.
I'm fairly new to Moodlebox (which is an excellent tool I have to say!) and learning as I go.
Am I right in thinking, based on your reply, that this isn't something that's currently possible? That's fine if it's not possible at the moment, I can find a workaround :-)
If you do have a moment to look at it that would be amazing, but I fully understand if time does not allow - it's not easy to juggle!

Nicolas Yes, the lack of a RTC in Raspberry Pi is a problem. There are some R Pi HATs which also contain RTCs. Have you had a chance to experiment?

DS3231 Real Time Clock Module 3.3V/5V is very cheap and works well. @Rachel: it could be a good solution for you 😃
